Venue Media Manager (Women's RWC England 2025 LOC) (2025)

Reporting to the Media Operations Manager, the Venue Media Manager is the lead functional area representative in the match venue. You will be responsible for all logistics and operations of the media facilities and ensuring there is a smooth working environment for the accredited media.

Key Dates:

This tournament time role starts with onboarding sessions in London then Venue Media Managers will begin working in their respective venues from 16 August.

Northampton – Start date 13 August. End date 8 September

Salford / Brighton – Start date 13 August. End date 8 September

Exeter – Start date 13 August. End date 15 September

Sunderland / Bristol – Start date 13 August. End date 21 September

Please note there will be some non-working days in between matches, and schedules will depend on the venue allocation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee the fit out and bump in of all media spaces
  • Ensure all wayfinding and signage is installed as required
  • Deliver venue specific training to media operations volunteers
  • Attend venue team meetings and provide input and support as needed to the wider venue team
  • Support the Team Media Managers with media activities at the welcome ceremonies
  • Assist with the scheduling of interpreters for media conferences and mixed zones as required
  • Prepare match day briefing sheets for media
  • Manage operations in the media centre, press tribune and interview areas. This also includes management of photographers and photo positions at matches where there is not a dedicated photo manager present
  • Work alongside World Rugby’s Match Media Officer to deliver a smooth post-match interview process
  • Liaise with the central Media Operations team on accreditation and match allocations processes
  • Oversee seat assignments on match days
  • Ensure there is a collaborative working relationship with the Broadcast team, providing both accredited media and rights holders with an excellent level of service throughout the tournament
  • Submit daily reports during operational periods and prepare a final report at the end of the tournament

Experience & knowledge you’ll need:

  • Previous experience in leading media operations in a venue at sports events
  • Understanding of the media landscape, particularly within women’s sport
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong leadership and experience managing and motivating volunteer staff
  • Good technical knowledge
  • Ability and desire to provide a superior level of customer service
  • Experience in dealing with international clients and stakeholders
  • All applicants must have a current and valid right to work in the UK
